About these terms
These terms apply between you and Wrenmoor Heath Golf Club Limited (“the club”, “we”, “us”), Wrenmoor Lane, Chobham Common, Surrey GU24 8QX. By booking a tee time, a society day or a lesson, or by using this website, you agree to them.
Members play under the club's constitution and bye-laws, which take precedence over these terms where the two differ.
Booking a tee time
Visitor tee times are available Monday to Friday and can be booked up to three weeks ahead, online, through the pro shop or through the office. A booking is confirmed when you receive our confirmation email.
- Green fees are payable when you book, at the rate shown on the day you book.
- Every player must hold a current handicap index from a recognised golf club or golf union, and may be asked to show it on the day.
- The name on the booking is responsible for the rest of the group, including their green fees and conduct.
- Please report to the pro shop at least 20 minutes before your tee time. Late arrivals may lose their time without a refund.
Cancellations and changes
You can cancel or move a visitor booking free of charge up to 48 hours before your tee time. We will refund the green fee in full or move it to another available date.
- Within 48 hours of the tee time, green fees are not refundable, although we will offer a credit if we are able to resell the time.
- You may reduce the number of players up to 48 hours before; after that, the full group is charged.
- Players who do not arrive are charged in full.
If the course is closed
If we close the course or reduce it to fewer than 18 holes because of frost, snow, waterlogging or maintenance, we will contact you as early as we can and offer a full refund or a new date. If play is suspended for weather after you have started and cannot resume, we will offer a credit in proportion to the holes not played.
The club may change the start time of a booking by up to 30 minutes where the course requires it. For any larger change we will offer a refund.
Societies and company days
Society and company days are for groups of 12 to 60 players and are confirmed in writing by the office. A deposit is payable to secure the date, final numbers and menu choices are due 14 days before the day, and the balance is payable on the day.
Cancellations made more than 60 days before the day receive a full refund of the deposit. After that, the deposit is kept, and within 14 days the full agreed price is payable for the confirmed numbers.
Handicap and dress rules
These apply to every visitor and guest, on the course and around the clubhouse:
- A handicap index of 28 or lower for men, 36 for women.
- Soft spikes. Tailored shorts with plain socks, May to September.
- Phones on silent on the course and in the clubhouse.
- Collared shirts on the course. No denim, tracksuits, sports shorts or football shirts on the course or in the clubhouse.
- Golf shoes are not worn in the Long Room.
- Jackets are not required, except at the club's formal dinners.
The pro shop and the club's staff may refuse play to anyone who does not meet these rules, and in that case green fees are not refunded.
On the course
- Play under the Rules of Golf and the club's local rules, which are on the back of the scorecard and on the course page.
- Keep pace with the group in front. A round should take no longer than four hours for a three or four-ball.
- Repair pitch marks, replace or fill divots and rake bunkers. Keep trolleys off tees and greens and follow the daily directions on the starter's board.
- Buggies are available from the pro shop to drivers aged 18 or over, and must stay on the paths where signs say so.
- Shout “fore” if a ball may hit anyone, including walkers and riders on the public rights of way that cross the common.
- Phones on silent. Calls are made off the course, away from other players.
In the clubhouse
Visitors and guests are welcome in the bar, the Long Room and on the terrace, and are asked to follow the dress rules above. Some rooms are reserved for members at certain times and are signed accordingly. Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult in the bar. Dogs are welcome on the terrace only.
Liability
Golf carries a risk of injury from balls and clubs. Players are responsible for their own safety and for the safety of others affected by their play, and are strongly advised to hold personal golf insurance, which most home clubs include with membership.
The club does not accept responsibility for loss of or damage to personal belongings, vehicles in the car park, or equipment left in the trolley store, except where caused by the club's negligence. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot be limited by law, and nothing affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
Using this website
This website is run by the club to give information about the course, visiting, membership and the clubhouse. We try to keep it accurate, but prices, times and course conditions can change, and the confirmation we send you is what counts for any booking.
- The words, photographs, course drawings and design on this website belong to the club or are used with permission. You may view and print pages for your own use, but not copy them for commercial use without our written agreement.
- Please do not misuse the website: no attempts to gain unauthorised access, to interfere with its operation, or to submit false bookings or enquiries.
- We may link to other websites. We are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices.
- How we handle personal information you give us is explained in our privacy notice.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction over any dispute. If you have a concern, please speak to the Secretary first by emailing secretary@wrenmoorheath.co.uk or calling 01632 960 418; most things can be put right quickly.
